Looking for an enthusiastic, proactive and innovative senior level Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with demonstrated production AWS experience to join a team in a devops environment designing and implementing the global cloud services infrastructure hosting our web sites, services and back end systems that deliver the Control4 experience to our global customers.  Will work closely with other Cloud Infrastructure team members as well as other development, marketing, data, QA and tech support teams to deliver deployable, maintainable, scalable, secure and highly available cloud services.  Must complete highly visible projects on schedule in an interrupt-driven environment.  Must be able to relate technical needs and requirements with the business and be customer focused.  Ability to document, communicate and collaborate is critical.  Some late night and weekend availability needed.  Will need to be in on-call rotation as needed to support critical production services.  Will need to be in office during business hours.

  • Design and implement solutions to business needs that enable Control4 to deliver a positive customer experience as we deliver new features and scale to meet customer demand
  • Design and implement continuous delivery pipeline
  • Manage (deploy, administer, troubleshoot) Control4's web sites and cloud services
  • Identify and act on opportunities for improvement in areas such as scalability, global availability, rapid solution delivery and security
  • Resolve customer issues escalated by tech support. Know when escalations are opportunities for product improvement
  • Work closely with development team in a DevOps environment
  • Collaborate with developers, PQA, marketing, support, sales and IT team members on a daily basis
  • Automate processes
  • Document solutions and help team grow by sharing technical expertise with other team members



  • Extensive AWS system administration and design experience. AWS certification a plus
  • Understanding of DevOps concepts and practices
  • Solid Linux system administration experience
  • Familiar with Windows system administration
  • TCP/IP networking
  • One or more of: bash, powershell, perl, php, python or ruby
  • Understanding and application of cloud security concepts and practice
  • Proficient with linux command line
  • Experience with instance and service provisioning, preferably CloudFormation
  • Experience developing and managing a deployment pipeline for Continuous Deployment
  • Experience with server configuration and deployment automation, preferably chef
  • Ability to document IT systems and processes
  • Ability to recognize where processes can be improved and automated and deliver on those improvements and automation.

  • Linux System Administration
  • Amazon AWS (EC2, VPCs, S3, IAM, ELB, RDS, lambda, Route53, DynamoDB, CloudFront, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, Kinesis, SNS, SES, Security Groups, AWS API and command line)
  • Other cloud provider/framework experience a plus

  • 7+ years experience Linux system administration in production environment
  • 1+ years experience Windows system administration
  • Relevant 4 year degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven production AWS administration experience (4+ years)
  • Solid scripting or programming experience
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with others in the organization
  • Must be available after hours (nights or weekends) when needed
