Start your career as a high-end, CUSTOM speaker builder at Triad.  This position requires NO previous training but does require a motivated individual with a passion for learning and eye for quality. 

As a Speaker Box Builder you'll enjoy a positive work environment while you learn how to build a speaker from a flat piece of MDF board.  You'll work with wood glue and bondo to transform a flat pieces of wood into the speaker box. Once the box has been formed you'll sand and paint the product to give it a nice finished look. 

This is a great opportunity for someone with previous cabinet building or auto body repair experience. No experience?  No worries.  We have successfully trained hires with NO experience to be professional grade painters/sanders.

This is NOT assembly line work.  All of our speakers are made within 5-6 days of a customer placing their order.  Every order is different which makes every day different.  PLUS, we'll cross train you in several positions within the box building and paint department and you'll rotate on a daily basis.

ITEMIZED DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Included but are not completely limited to those listed below.  Other duties within or outside the Product Line Cell may be assigned.

  • Works from assembly drawings, computer generated, written and/or verbal instructions to assemble audio speakers.
  • Uses various hand tools including but not limited to the following:
  • Hot glue guns, paint sprayers, screw drivers, plastic hammers, wrenches, pliers, cutters, nail guns, electric or pneumatic drills, electric or pneumatic hand sanders, and wood shaving tools.
  • Visually scans speaker boxes or sub-assemblies for cosmetic or structural flaws. Will perform minor cosmetic fixes or route to appropriate process location for rework. Identifies defective components for tagging and segregation.
  • Assists production support personnel in identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Performs identified preventive maintenance to tools and equipment and reports any maintenance needs to Team Leader.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment used.

NEEDED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: The requirements outlined in this description are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job satisfactorily. 

  • Ability to read and comprehend both simple and moderately complex instructions, short correspondence, and memos in the English language. Ability to effectively present information and/or engage in discussion in one-on-one and small group situations with team members and other employees within the organization. 
  • Basic High School level general math capability. Must demonstrate ability to operate Windows based PC.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Capable of engaging in individual or group problem solving activity involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED); or one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
