We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with experience in C++ on Embedded Linux and C++ and C# for Windows.  Having strong understanding of software architecture and design skills in developing highly reliable systems and applications is a must.  You'll create unit tests and conduct peer reviews of code for technical accuracy.

So what exactly is it that you'll be supporting?  Thanks for asking! You'll be supporting our communications products that enable homeowners to do things like see who's at the front door, check on their sleeping baby or call everyone to the table for dinner, simply and conveniently.

ITEMIZED DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Design, develop and implement features and services to run on Control4 Linux and Android products to deliver reliable and robust voice and video communications.
  • Actively participate in an agile team planning and executing iterations with a strong drive to complete on-time with proven quality, holding oneself and team members accountable for delivery.
  • Develop algorithms that are efficient, maintainable, extensible, easy to understand, documented, and according to best development practices.
  • Identify and implement test-hooks for test automation
  • Work closely with QA team to help define proper testing techniques, review the plans, correct product defects and assist QA engineers in test strategy.
  • Document designs, code, and API's.
  • Triage, and fix defects in new and legacy software as required.

NEEDED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated expertise in C++ development of daemons and applications on Embedded Linux.
  • Low level Embedded Linux development and configuration a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of SIP for audio and video communications.
  • Understanding of Agile software development processes
  • Understanding of object oriented analysis, design, and implementation.
  • Experience with make, cmake, and git distributed source code control
  • Solid experience with Windows development in C++ and C#
  • Experience with SIP switching applications such as Freeswitch including troubleshooting, code modification and configuration
  • Experience with troubleshooting and modifying SIP client libraries such as linphone.
  • Experience with audio and video compression standards, methods, and libraries a plus.
  • Experience with Jenkins build environments a plus.
  • Lua development experience a plus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years of hands-on development experience with C++ on Embedded Linux.
  • 5+ years developing software for Windows in C++ and C#.
  • BS or greater degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • An unrelenting desire to build great home automation products
