We are looking for a product marketing professional that has a passion for home automation and extensive experience with the consumer electronics or CEDIA industry.  The ideal candidate will be a music or home entertainment enthusiast with experience marketing multi-room audio, home theater solutions, speakers or similar products.  Our solutions are sold and used by families around the world, so understanding how to market technology lifestyle benefits to consumers is essential.

This position is for a passionate evangelist to create and articulate our unique selling proposition in all the materials we produce around our speakers and audio product lines.  They will create materials that our sales organization can leverage to effectively evangelize our line of speakers to our channel and end consumers.  They will also take a leadership role in product launches and ongoing product adoption efforts throughout the product lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communications, analytical and strategic skills to identify and drive the development of unique, high-impact positioning that will inspire dealers, partners and consumers for Control4 products, existing and new.  We're looking for a creative thinker that is hands-on - someone who has sound technical fundamentals and is comfortable collaborating with internal teams to develop everything from a strategic messaging framework for a new product line, to sales presentations, video, consumer collateral, brochures, web copy, and even press releases.

The Sr. Product Marketing Manager reports to the Sr. Director Product Marketing and will collaborate on programs and initiatives with the Marketing, Product Management/ Development, and Sales teams.



Product Marketing

  • Work with Product Managers in the development of PRD's and MRD's, offering competitive insight, customer and dealer product requirements and pricing recommendations.
  • Drive customer and dealer research to support the development of products and the materials and programs needed to successfully launch and sell them in the marketplace.
  • Drive promotions and programs to accelerate Dealer adoption of Control4 solutions.
  • Develop strategic positioning and messaging documentation to drive the development of all collateral and support materials for new Control4 products.
  • Drive product launches, working with cross-functional teams to ensure timely execution of all deliverables that could include launch kick-off events, market tours, sales presentations, web copy, documentation, consumer collateral and video, press releases, case studies and product review.
  • Regularly attend product planning meetings to provide competitive and dealer perspective for the group and represent Marketing to ensure cross-functional alignment on timelines, deliverables and new or changed product feature sets.
  • Work with our PR teams to drive press exposure of Control4 products.


Consumer Content

  • Identify the consumer value proposition of Control4 products and elevate it with high-impact and consistent messaging that can be used by Creative Services in development of all consumer-facing content.
  • Lead the brainstorming and development of creative consumer facing marketing materials necessary for product launches.


Dealer Content & Communications

  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of dealer content such as product and technical videos, application diagrams, data sheets, whitepapers, case studies and business support documents.
  • Assist documentation manager in proofing user and installation guides, quick start guides, etc.
  • Drive the development of content for Dealer Events presentations, scripts, video.
  • Comfortable leading web-ex and Dealer meetings/sessions with regards to gleaning feedback on products or launching them.



  • Thorough knowledge of the custom installation channel, including major products, technologies, manufacturers and issues effecting custom installers.
  • Experience in consumer electronics retail is a plus.
  • Ability to administer a project independently and report resource requirements and results in a timely fashion.
  • Understanding of and ability to analyze and communicate market and technology requirements as well as product capabilities and limitations
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Outstanding communications skills, both written and oral


  • 5-7 years experience in product marketing and the product launch process
  • 5-7 years experience in the CI channel or consumer electronics industry
  • Undergraduate degree in business, marketing, engineering, computer science, or equivalent work experience
